In my classroom, we understand that each child is different. They all have different learning styles, abilities, and needs. It is important that they are comfortable throughout the school day so they can be available to learning. Students are innately energetic and a traditional classroom setting does not allow them to learn the way children learn best. With flexible seating options, such as Hokki stools and bouncy bands, students would be able to choose how to sit or stand while still participating in the classroom. This will allow the students to wiggle out their energy and still concentrate on their lessons without disrupting other students. This project will help: 1. Calm the Wiggles Being able to move while sitting down helps many children who normally can't sit still or who have special needs stay seated and focus more on learning and completing their assignments. 2. Practice Self-Control Students will learn to share, wait their turn, and work together to problem solve how everyone can have a turn using the variety of seating options. 3. Improve Posture Hokki stools provide support for children while also making them engage their core to stay sitting upright.
