Change classroom photo
Every two weeks, we bring new waves of students in our high school building. The students have been experiencing so much change and uncertainty during the pandemic. I want to create a safe place for students in my counseling office so that they can access therapeutic and stress-relief resources. I want to increase access to counseling sessions both in-person and through Zoom. By creating a constant for students during an inconsistent time, I hope to help improve their success in school and increase their mental health. The clear containers will be visible and accessible with access therapeutic and stress-relief resources to help encourage students to want to be the best representation of themselves for what they can control. In the Maker's Space, students can destress, meditate, collect their thoughts, and reach mindfulness so when they return to class they can focus and function productively. We currently have 10% of our population in our building and continue to grow with each phase. My room, my counseling supports, and my new makers' space will hopeful aid for those that are in the building.
