Studies show that students who are hungry at school don’t perform as well as students who are fed and not worried about where their next meal will come from. I have students every day that are hungry and didn’t bring anything to eat for snack. It gets really expensive for me to keep a snack drawer stocked all the time for 50 students. I just can’t keep up. Students having access to a snack and bottle of water doesn’t seem like a lot to most, but to these students it makes a world of difference.
