My goal is for students to walk through my classroom doorway excited to begin each day and engaged enough in the activities that the practices they learn carry into next year and beyond. I hope to do this first with flexible seating options. The tables/desks in my classroom are adjustable height! That means I can have a few set to tall, a few at the traditional height, and a few lowered near the floor. Because of this, I have requested a few taller stools, a few kneeling pads, and a few cushions that could be used on the floor or added to a traditional chair for a little extra comfort. The second way I hope to accomplish this is by facilitating engaging learning in the classroom with materials aside from routine paper and pencil. My math class in particular will benefit from the items I've requested as I utilize game-style play in class reinforcing fundamental skills that will be integral as they progress through middle school next year and later into high school. Thank you in advance for considering a gift of any amount towards helping me reach my goal!
