Turn my students into avid readers by giving them an amazing choice of books that they can read! Reading is so crucial to students success in education. Growing that love for reading is a vital part of this. In a small low-income school, we as teachers must buy all the books for our classroom. I try and find books at garage sales and on sale but it gets expensive as a teacher to buy all the books myself. Most schools have a school library where students can go and borrow books. Ours got shut down 2 years ago and hasn't been re-opened. My students have less than 30 books to choose from as this is only my 2nd year teaching reading. I'm thankful for my coworkers who have been teaching 20+ years that they allow my students to borrow their books. Getting this project funded will me so much to my students and getting to enjoy books that they have high interest in.
