Art is an essential part of a child's life! Too often art is pushed to the side to meet the heavy demands of literacy and math. It is important to remember that art is a gift and just as important as any other subject. Art is not only an essential subject, but is calming and a wonderful time to practice fine motor skills. Calling all Picassos, O'Keeffes, and Monets! We will study different artists and recreate some pieces using the requested watercolors and tempera paints. We will use their techniques and styles to inspire new works of art. In the coming months, I've planned a Picasso unit where students will read, write, and artistically mimic this unique artist!
