These materials are so important for my kindergarten students. The majority of my students speak a second language. The ability for them to have activities that teach them proper letter sounds in a fun way is imperative to their learning! At least 80 percent of all poor readers are estimated to demonstrate a weakness in phonological awareness and/or phonological memory. The foundation for every student is knowing their sounds and letters. The foundation that these programs will build are skills that my students will use for the rest of their lives. In many cases, students become frustrated with school or act out because they cannot read. Having a strong knowledge of phonics will give these students a great jumpstart in their educations and make them excited to learn!
