Access to technology is the KEY to students being successful in the classroom. We are a high school over approximately 400 students and as a Social Studies teacher we have to share laptops etc with the entire school. We have access to technology, but there is never enough to go around! The students lives are geared towards technology! So why not make learning fun with integrating technology into their lessons. I have created lessons on latitude and longitude using Google Maps. But just imagine if they had ONE ON ONE technology. Imagine if they had time to explore the map, instead of hurrying through to pass the computer to the next group. Students with learning disabilities need access to technology to even the playing field. The computers have the capability to read their assignments to them or even take their tests through our online testing system. Having 8 computers to share among my 20 students would allow me to integrate technology into all my lessons not just a few when its our turn to use the school technology! Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!
