My students need ukuleles! They will give us the opportunity to use my Little Kids Rock Modern Band teacher training and the awesome free resources they provide. Ukuleles are engaging, sound great, and are easy enough to make students to feel successful! They are so playable and simple that kids don't become overwhelmed with details - they can perform a song the first day they pick it up! It's the perfect instrument to introduce kids to the joys of music making and creativity. They lend themselves to the art of songwriting, which is an awesome way to practice literacy and writing skills that go far beyond music class.
