Four years ago, I was the first elementary teacher in our district to begin teaching students to code through Code.org, and my students were instantly addicted! My original group of students are now fourth graders and their desire to learn other means of coding and platforms increases each year. My older students are coding mentors and role models for the younger kids. They have become stakeholders in the education of the younger students, and want them to do well. These future innovators were the ones who researched the Botley robot, and they determined it would be a wonderful first step to our current coding program and as an introduction to robotics.
