These books will enhance my classroom library and read alouds with diverse, enriching, and engaging characters and lessons. They will help students see themselves in the stories and perhaps encourage them to make a difference in their communities. My students deserve to see characters of all races, ethnicity, abilities, and cultures represented in the stories they read and hear. As we approach the new school year with virtual learning, reading aloud, even through a computer, will enable my students to feel a connection to the stories, their class, and the world around them. Please help me create a culturally relevant and inclusive library.
