Almost 20% of my class is below average in their literacy skills. Providing them with access to a range of books with various different reading levels will help them build up those skills during those times when I can't work one on one with them. I also want to provide my students with a classroom library that is full of books on diversity and inclusion, so that we can foster that feeling of having a class family that is always kind, caring, and inclusive. Reading is something that I am very passionate about as a teacher, and I want to spark that passion in my students.
