When it comes to my students, to my kids, I simply want the best for them. Teaching at an alternative school, most of my students are faced with day to day struggles no child should ever have to face. My hope as a teacher is to provide not just a classroom for my students, but a sanctuary in which they can feel safe and free to learn and thrive in. Whether it is basic supplies or the more extravagant activities, the last thing I want my students to worry about is having supplies. Their only job I need them to do every single day is to come to school and to have an open mind. I want to ensure my students receive the best possible education and guidance all within the comfort of our classroom home, our sanctuary, without any worries because alternative schools shouldn't mean alternative teaching.
