With these new books, my students will have availability of books that represent different interests. It is so important to be able to choose from a variety of genres that will allow students to read independently at their own grade level. It is just as important to have a variety of books for students to be able to choose from and respond to. Our library has a good number of fiction books, and I am looking to add nonfiction, historical fiction, and picture books. YES! Picture books are SO good for all ages. They are fun to read and full of lessons that we can revisit as a class all year long. These books will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create. My classroom library is a place that I hope my students really enjoy. Every student book that is placed in my library is treated with love and care, and they are thankful for the opportunities to read. All of these books have been chosen with my future students in mind. Students will be able to choose books, which will help them continue to enjoy independent reading time. And I will continue to grow my library throughout the year.
