These materials will be used to add books to our classroom library that reflect our students and that speak to them in their native language. My students are bilingual and speak English and Spanish. Yet sadly our classroom library has only a couple of books in Spanish. The books we do have are either books that are below grade level or very old. Students are looking for books that inspire them and grasp their attention but in their home language. We are looking to expand our classroom library by bringing them books that will spark a new desire for reading. We are also trying to cope with Covid-19 and the ever changing guidelines and the scanner will allow for our class library to be organized and ready for what ever comes next.
