My 4K students are energetic, creative and caring. They love to use their imaginations and explore. Throughout the day students participate in various activities and centers in the classroom. Having a variety of materials to use in the classroom will allow students to use their imagination and stay engaged in their play. Having a variety of toys and materials also allows me to switch out toys more frequently in centers. Problem solving, teamwork and communication are just a few examples of skills students develop through play based learning. Students also learn the valuable skill of cooperation and taking turns. As children of the 21st century, my students need to be prepared to use a variety of tools and social skills to engage in the world.
