This school year, I am excited to welcome a wonderful group of first graders to our community school in East Harlem, NYC. As a first-year classroom teacher, my goal is to create a warm, inclusive environment where every child feels welcomed, valued, and excited to learn. My students will enter first grade with unique personalities, strengths, cultures, experiences, and learning needs. At six and seven years old, they are growing as readers, writers, mathematicians, scientists, and problem-solvers while also learning independence, friendship, and how to manage big emotions. I want our classroom to be a place where curiosity is encouraged, differences are celebrated, and mistakes are opportunities to grow. With the support of DonorsChoose, I hope to provide the resources and experiences my students need to learn, explore, build confidence, and dream BIG!
