My students have overcome countless hurdles in their journey towards becoming high school graduates. Being from a low income area presents challenges in and of itself, not to mention that many of our students are also English Language Learners and Special Needs. It has been my pleasure to watch these students grow and develop into young adults now preparing to head off to college and/or the work force and I have no doubt they are headed for greatness.
It is important to celebrate and recognize such hard work and enthusiasm for learning even in the face of adversity. That is why I would LOVE to reward my students with the greatest senior year possible! Many of my students have never traveled outside of their neighborhood so this year's senior trip to Honors Haven Resort would be not only a celebration, but an experience of a lifetime. Here, my students would be able to interact with other students outside of their neighborhood, participate in countless events and activities and let loose and be kids one last time before heading out into the real world!
My hope is to show these kids that hard work pays off and to continue to strive for greatness because GREAT is what they are!
