The materials I have selected will allow students to collaborate with each other in a smaller, comfortable space; allowing students to create a space that encourages their own learning needs. This will allow students to build academic discourse, grow confidence, and enhance student achievement. Most of my students have never enjoyed the comfort of a bean bag chair! Plus, these chairs can be grouped in pairs, or small groups allowing students to move them around as they see fit. The tables allow them to create a central working space for their group. In essence, they are creating the space that they feel comfortable working in.
