I teach art in a very low-income, high energy Senior High School. Many of my students face difficult home situations, homelessness, gangs, drugs on the streets, and other problems that I don't remember ever being an issue when I was a student. Because of this, it's important for me to go into the classroom and stress to kids the importance of art in their lives. Seeing my students desire to better their lives in such a tough world today makes me want to give them the gift of art more than ever before.

About my class
