I hope to encourage and enhance a love for reading in my classroom by providing a literacy-rich environment that caters to all reading levels. Even though my school has a library, I want to create a learning environment that places a high priority on reading. I have selected books that are appropriate for the struggling readers, the advanced readers and everyone in between. Therefore, all students in my classroom will be able to enjoy reading independently. My students will have numerous titles and reading levels appropriate books to choose from that will allow them to become fluent, confident, independent readers. It is my goal to increase my students' reading aptitude by creating opportunities for them to develop fluency through repeated reading practice facilitated through books that they enjoy reading.
