This year I have 26 1st graders. They are amazing, tiny, and eager to learn. They are emergent readers and spend every day practicing skills to make themselves better readers. First grade is the foundational year for students; what they learn during the 180 days in my classroom will stay with them a lifetime. My goal is to make my classroom and curriculum as exciting as possible to keep students as engaged as possible. I want them to love coming to school each day and I want to keep them on their toes! I want them to know that school will be fun and exciting each day but know that I will change things up often to keep them engaged. My school is diverse and full of educators who truly want to make a difference and students who come to school every day to learn.
