Imagine a room of 17 wiggly and energetic 4 year-olds. The average attention span for a 4 year old is about 10 minutes. How could you possibly begin to plan and execute activities with a very small attention span? The answer lies in the engaging and flexible seating that will stimulate students sensory needs. Flexible seating and space allows students to be mobile, comfortable, and have sensory needs taken care of.
Children NEED to move and be comfortable in their environment in order to have and maintain any attention span before they can be successful.
A flex space floor table and matching chairs will allow students a relaxing, comfortable and alternative work space to dive into their alphabet practice and writing.
A round mobile table will be a comfortable and appropriate space to have my flex-space balance ball seats. I currently have extremely long and high tables that are not appropriate to have my new flex-space balance ball seats nor are appropriate for preschool students.
Flexible seating is a necessity for any early childhood classroom. Without providing students with an appropriate and constructive way to release their energy and have their sensory needs, students will quickly lose focus and become disruptive. Each and every student has so many different sensory needs, by helping fund this project you will help everyone of my students to become successful and have their sensory needs met!
