I am the teacher to children from a low income, high-poverty, inner city community. My classroom is full of curious, energetic, eager learners. Almost all of these kindergartners have not experienced school before entering kindergarten this year. They are forming their first opinions about school and about themselves as students. They are ready to learn and grow! The majority of the students qualify for free and reduced lunch. These kindergartners come from a diverse background, including many English language learners. But all have in common expecting and deserving a great school experience and this project will help me give it to them.
