My math instruction is data-driven for optimal results! Students complete a math task, enter data into a district-based software, and student-specific data is generated. Once the data is retrieved, I meet with small groups of learners based on their common areas of needed improvement. The proper furniture can make or break this process. The activity table is the missing component to more effective and efficient small group instruction. Currently, I'm meeting with students within their cooperative groups and it's distracting to all learners. The alternative is to meet 1:1 which doesn't allow me to efficiently service students. We also need microphones. Once students have demonstrated growth, they are tasked with creating a brief video tutorial, podcast, song, or some other form of technology to help other students improve their understanding of the skill as well.
