The Lakeshore Mobile Listening Center will bring students the opportunity to hear stories being read to them while holding the book and following along with the audible story. Research suggests that children who hear stories being read as they read along, allows more words to be fluently read and therefore the daily exposure increases children's reading abilities. As a 15 year educator, I am witness to this. However, I am only one body in the learning environment. With this Listening Center in my classroom, I could increase reading exposure to more children in one reading workstation. Wowzers, what a blessing it would be to have such a learning tool!
