My sixth graders come from diverse backgrounds. My district is high poverty, with 61% of the county receiving free or reduced price lunch discounts as of 2011. The percentage of EC students being served this year is much higher than recent years, and they especially would be served well by these sensory cushions. My students from low income families would benefit greatly both from the chance to wiggle in class and from the knowledge that people cared about their well being and donated to their class.
