My students face challenges each day. Whether large, like when or how they are going to eat their next meal. Or small, like whether or not the drinking fountain or toilets are working at school. My middle school students also face the difficult challenge of learning to read and write. Each day they have to enter a school that has no funds to provide them with new textbooks, materials or updated classrooms. And each day they wonder if they are worth it. Our staff works very hard to create a comfortable, clean and inspiring educational environment, but there's only so much we can do. My students deserve to know that they are worth it.
