These students are in Kindergarten. They attend a unique, multi-cultural, K-12 magnet school in California which provides it's own set opportunities in terms of integrated, multi-age, cooperative learning and coaching but, also challenges of providing the space to meet all the students age appropriate needs. The school does not have a gymnasium or theater, only one common meeting room, which doubles as our Cafeteria. Like all children their age they are inspired by meeting new physical challenges and seeing themselves grow in their fitness goals but find it difficult to engage in activities with enthusiasm when always on a blacktop, especially in the 90 plus weather that can be common.
