My goal for my classroom next year is to have every student walk into it and immediately feel at ease. My students face incredibly stressful situations day to day while outside of school, so I am striving to create a safe place, or haven so to speak. I envision a comfortable, warm, welcoming room that students can relax and feel free to learn in their own style. Traditional classroom seating is not conducive to successful learning for every student. This is my motivation behind the materials I am requesting. Students who need to move around the room can do so with the three laptop trays and cushions I have requested. The Benzara Counter Height Table provides a fun alternative to their desk and helps create the vibe of a coffee shop, where the stakes are low and they can take comfort in the fact that they can learn at their own pace. The 2 Ikea lamps requested will allow for a softer light rather than the harsh bright lights that come on the ceiling. Receiving the items requested would aid in increasing my students'​ excitement about coming to class while also improving learning outcomes.
