My students attend a school that is over 90% free and reduced. Many of my students come to Kindergarten with limited social experiences and background knowledge. In Kindergarten, we spend the beginning of the year learning to work together, understanding procedures and routines and practicing basic skills. Despite these shortcomings, they are happy, energetic, passionate and eager to learn. They come to school every day with smiles on their faces and minds wide open. I challenge myself every day to expose them to a variety of experiences and make it my goal to enrich their lives as much as possible while they are in my room. I learn just as much from them as I hope they learn from me!
