I am a 1st Grade Teacher in Kennedale, TX. My students range from 6 to 8 years old. The academic and behavioral expectations placed on children of this age have changed a lot since I was in 1st Grade! 1st graders are expected to start the year already reading with the majority of their day spent sitting at a desk. A major goal I have for my classroom is to advance academics, while also allowing the kiddos to remain active. I am seeking donors to purchase Lakeshore's Interactive Smart Board Software : "Mastering Early Learning Skills" to enhance our classroom. This software allows the students to get out of their seats, while simultaneously learning the same skills they would through seat work. The kids love getting up and moving, and I love when they are still making the most of their time at school. Thank you in advance for contributing to tomorrow's leaders!
