How can a class with four year olds not have equipment to play outdoors? The transitional kindergarten classroom is huge and includes a great, shady outside patio. But there isn't much to do. A basketball hoop, some scooter boards, bean bag toss would make the outdoor play time a lot of more interactive and fun. What better way to make friends and let off some steam from all the learning taking place, than to climb, jump, and scoot outside with a friend! One of the first lessons the students learn is how to ask a friend to play or join a group. With this new equipment, the children can have a variety of gross motor activities to choose from. And as they learn to have fun outside together, sharing and taking turns, they will grow and develop skills that will carry over into their classroom learning.
