My class is a vibrant and energetic group of fourth grade students. They attend a rural elementary school (Pre-K - fifth grade) in a small town in Wendell, North Carolina. Our school has a high percentage of free and reduced meals. These students have a variety of backgrounds, mostly coming from low socio-economic families. The school and staff have a strong relationship with the community and the families that we serve. Community members and parents volunteer their time to help the students increase their educational skills. Due to the make up of our community and school, it is more feasible for them to donate their time to help out the children of our community.
