The materials requested will help my Kindergarten students learn basic music and rhythm skills! We will be learning virtually to keep everybody safe during this pandemic so each student will need his/her own set of instruments to use at home. We will discuss and review each instrument, its' features, how to properly care for it, and how to properly play it. We will also be learning the basics of reading music and some of the history of music. Learning music helps students to improve other scholastic skills! Research has shown that students that receive an education in music have also shown improved language skills, test scores, self-esteem, listening skills, and math skills. Students who learn music also benefit from relieving stress, developing the ability to use more than one part of the brain at a time, and it allows them to show their creative side.
