I have a classroom full of 25 fun-loving, silly, charismatic, and enthusiastic students. At times, it can be a little noisy, but that is alright since we are so busy sharing our knowledge and helping each other learn and grow. In my "sheltered" ENL classroom, my students continue to impress me each day with their motivation to exceed at their personal goals, even though many of them have linguistic challenges since they are not native English speakers. It imperative for my ENL students to have many opportunities throughout the day to practice their listening and speaking skills with my English speaking students so that they can be successful communicators. I serve a Title 1 school with a diverse in composition of a variety of economic and cultural backgrounds, yet we have made our classroom a supportive community where we can express our individual needs and our plans to reach success.
