My students need items for their dramatic play center to help them learn about real world things. These include things like community jobs, taking care of others, and other social skills. Both structured and unstructured dramatic play are important for a child's social and emotional development. It can help teach self-regulation, give children an emotional outlet, teach conflict resolution, develop language skills and problem solve. It can also provide the opportunity in a play setting for children to interact with math and print in real world scenarios. A play kitchen and accessories, dolls and puppets would help us get a good head start on this goal and provide my students with tools to develop their social and emotional skills.
