25 bright eyed Kindergarteners enter the room ready to take on new learning in English. As they learn and build their foundational skills in reading, writing, and math, we make sure to slow down and nurture their curiosity, their emotional intelligence, and their hearts. Lunch comes and my morning class will see me no more as they switch off to their daily dose of Spanish Instruction. But my room doesn't stand empty for long. A herd of 27 excited Kindergartners are now ready to power their way into my classroom to continue their journey and activate their minds from mastering the Spanish language to English instruction. Our 50/50 Dual Language Immersion program has been going strong with my incredible colleague, Sra. Gonzalez. Together, we celebrate their individuality but challenge them to push themselves forward and believe that they can dream, build, and become whatever they choose to be!
