Our students will use these donations to bring more nature to our school environment. We will use the soil, gardening tools and watering cans to plant, grow and care for a school garden. Children will have hands-on opportunities to plant and tend to a garden. They will learn the importance of caring for living things, and growing their own plants, herbs and vegetables. Students in our urban school have limited opportunities for planting and seeing first hand how plants and vegetables grow. We would like to instill the love of gardening in our youngest learners and hope, like our garden, their interest in gardening and the science involved in planting will grow with them. Green thumbs up for all our PreK students!
