A buddy bench is designed to eliminate the feeling of isolation or loneliness on the playground. By adding a bench to our playground, our hopes are to spread the message of inclusion and kindness! If a student is feeling lonely or left out, they may go sit on the bench. When a kind peer sees them sitting alone, they may invite the lonely student to join in on their game! This is a tool for positive mental and emotional health. The Buddy Bench will be a signal to show students that someone is feeling left out or that someone is needing friend or invitation to be included!
