My students come from a rural area in Pleasanton, Texas. Our city doesn't have a very big public library; the closest "big" library would be 45 minutes away. Poverty plays a big role in not having transportation to travel to the San Antonio to visit the public library. I teach 8-10 year old brilliant, funny, energetic students Reading & Writing. My students are focusing on building their fluency and comprehension. I work with each student individually to set and meet their goals. The best way to increase reading abilities is to read more and read different types of genres.
