The ukeleles will provide an individual and personal musical experience for my students. But, more than that, these instruments have the ability to also build a musical community within my classroom that be carried over to their daily lives. These instruments can be used to teach musical concepts, obviously. But, I'm also planning to use these instruments to build classroom communities by working together on the social skills required to play in groups, or bands, such as listening to others, constructive criticism, peer support, musical accuracy, & performing together, all while playing FUN music on FUN instruments. Overall, I'm wanting to help foster 'happy' in our students.

About my class
