These materials are all necessary in providing our special education students with the tools and accommodations needed to help reach IEP goals and be successful. Materials such as binders, highlighters and pencils, give students their best chance at learning and using that knowledge in the real world. Students are being given materials that work and limit the anxiety students face with not being prepared to complete a task assigned. Students need extra support and differentiated instruction, the right tools help that child be successful. When a student feels limited in the classroom, they may start to feel low self esteem and inadequate.

About my class
