As students in Special Education, my class needs different materials than what they may experience in their regular classroom. Our materials help support building the basics of reading and math and can connect to what they learn throughout the day. Phonics are the building blocks of reading and the materials we can get through this project can help close the gap my students are currently experiencing in reading. The Phonemic Awareness Instant Learning Centers and Interactive Journals will give my students focused materials that can be used in a small group setting. Building problem solving skills using the "What's the Best Strategy? Problem Solving Centers" not only supports in understanding math, but can also be used in all areas of their day. They will learn that there may be one or more ways to solve something, but there is always a best option. These materials will bridge what we focus on in small group and what they are being exposed to in their general education classroom every day.
