In our classroom, creativity builds connection and confidence. Each year, my high school art students collaborate with elementary students in a cross-age project that celebrates imagination and mentorship. Elementary students begin by creating themed drawings. My high school students then transform those ideas into three-dimensional sculptures, learning to interpret another artist’s vision while building problem-solving and leadership skills. We are seeking funding for next year’s collaboration, building on this year’s success using materials like polymer clay and fabric. Each year, materials may change to keep the project fresh and engaging. Funding will support flexible supplies such as armature wire, clay, adhesives, and finishing materials so students can safely experiment and create meaningful artwork. Your support helps students create, connect, and inspire one another.
