My students are eager to learn and are grateful for every learning opportunity. They are from the small rural community of Dublin, Texas which is known for its dairies, historical museums and the oldest Dr. Pepper Bottling Plant in the world. About 80 percent of my students are from low income families and many have never been outside of their hometown. We have a high population of ESL students and many of their families do not speak English at home. Our students have done well on state math assessments but seem to struggle with reading, mostly due to language barriers. Our school provides a safe and positive environment for our students to become successful learners. The elementary has about 400 students from PreK to 3rd grade.
