As an educator with many human lives and personalities in my classroom, it is important for me to create an environment for my students that is an individual and unique experience for each student, while also building a classroom culture and community where students learn how to collaborate and build interpersonal relationships and take risks with their learning! All students come to school each and every day with many challenges and obstacles that they must overcome. Creating a safe and loving environment for all my students is something that I strive to do each day and part of this is understanding what my students need in order to be successful and when they need it. We are requesting wobble chairs, an area rug, and chair bands. Flexible seating will allow EACH child the ability to choose a seating option that will work best for them and their learning and working style. It can be very difficult for children to sit in desks all day long and to do their very best and be successful when they have so much built up energy! With flexible seating, my students will get the choice to sit on the floor, sit on stools, lie down, or even wiggle while also engaging in their learning!
