We meet in our carpet area multiple times a day. The carpet area that we are currently using consists of old industrial mats that I have used for many years. I have had to place and replace duct tape on these mats to mark student spots. This is why I would love a new carpet area in my classroom! Our daily routine revolves around our carpet area. We use this area for community circles, listening to read aloud, sharing student ideas and work, and whole group teaching. The students also love to sit on the carpet to read to themselves, have small group discussions, and play games.
