Creating a cozy corner for my class will set the tone and environment to foster a love of books and learning! Kindergarten kiddos LOVE color and they LOVE beanbags! By creating a cozy corner space that is their own, they will take pride in their learning and be in an area that fosters creativity and imagination! Help make our Cozy Corner dreams come true! How will we use our cozy corner? For reading of course! My students are lacking the resources to have a bright, warm, and vibrant classroom. The room is beige and barren and I cannot wait to come in and revamp the room for my readers! Early exposure to literature sets up our children for success! I cannot wait for them to have an area of their own! I plan to use the larger oval rug for our whole group instruction time. My classroom does not currently have an age appropriate whole group rug so I would love to have this to create a cozy and inviting area for us to read together! The smaller of the two rugs will be in my Cozy Corner! I love the vibrant colors of this rug and know it will create the soft and secure space my kiddos need to cuddle up with a good book! The colorful bins will be used to store their leveled readers that I have already purchased and the cardboard mailbox area will house their own books that they have created! This will give them the choice of what they would like to read while still having their own publications surrounding them! The mini book shelf will house our books of the month and the bean bag chairs will give them a cozy area to relax and get lost in a book!
