I teach language arts and social studies to two separate classes, so most of the time that my scholars are in my classroom, they will either be reading or writing. My goal is to create a calm, comfortable atmosphere so that my students can perform their best. I personally would not choose to read a good book while sitting in a hard plastic chair, and I’m sure most kids wouldn’t either. I want my students to have the choice to sit in comfortable seating options all around our room. I believe this will increase engagement and achievement in all of my kiddos!
